Tuesday was supposed to be our grand day to move all our furniture down so we could have a normal living space again, but last minute, we decided we couldn't take the Looney Toons anymore. We weren't planning on painting until we had the ceilings done (who knows when) because inevitably, the walls will be ruined if we spent money on paint once we worked on the ceiling. However, since we couldn't bear the thought of living with Bugs and Daffy for very long, or the thought of spending a bunch of money on paint, a great idea was suggested to Caleb by our good friends. They suggested heading over to Habitat for Humanity and picking up "oops" paint. Each gallon is $5, so we figured we could spare some cash on that. Since they are "oops" paints, none match each other, so we bought 3 different shades of tan and mixed them in a big bucket. We also bought a dark brown for the dining room, but there wasn't another shade close to this at Habitat, so we ended up matching it at a paint store to finish the second coat.
Needless to say, we did not move our furniture down and have spent the week painting. We have been quite pleased with the results and will be able to wait out the ceiling thing a while with our new wall colors up. Enjoy the death of Looney Toons:

Adios!
Ok, before the Looney Toons die, we also thought our shower was going to be done on Tuesday. It almost was. They came to install it only to find out the small glass section on the corner was the wrong size and had to be cut down. They said it'd be a few days.
Caleb's usual cheery self.
Our friend Jenna was excited to help us kill the Looney Toons. Thanks Jenna!
This looks like some creepy Hansel and Gretal setup to me.
And AT LAST...the contractor did return on Friday...much to my surprise and glee, and completed the shower. We waited 24 hours to use it, and it was a joy to shower in our own house and not have to get in the car and drive home from a friend's house after a warm shower.
More to come soon....we're far from finished!
Ugh. Finally. I've been waiting for like a week.
